Review: BareMinerals Get Started Kit

Hey guys! So not long ago, my mom bought this BareMinerals kit, but she didn't really like it, mainly because she originally thought it was going to make her appear younger or have some anti-aging benefits... but she felt it was targeted more towards younger women, so she just gave it to me. Unfortunately the foundations are both a bit too dark for me. I was going to try them out anyway for the review, but I actually just washed my brushes so I can't.. boo! But I'd like to at least review the rest of the products.

My kit included:
- 0.07 oz Original SPF 15 Foundation
- 0.05 oz Matte SPF 15 Foundation
- 0.02 oz SPF 20 Concealer

- Mini Prime Time™ Original Foundation Primer

My experience:
The kit is pretty expensive - like $80 Canadian?! Not sure how much mom purchased it for... anyway, I love the brushes. They're soft and they don't irritate my skin at all. I get amazing coverage when I use them with my Maybelline SuperStay liquid foundation, and pretty good coverage with my all-in-one face base from The Body Shop. I also really like the primer. It seems kind of oily at first, but it actually feels so nice on the skin and you don't even notice it after it dries. I have acne-prone skin and as far as I can tell, it doesn't make me break out at all. The only other primer I've used is Revlon PhotoReady perfecting primer, and I much prefer BareMineral's. The concealer is great. There's nothing super special about it, but it covers the dark circles around my eyes and my acne scars wonderfully! The mineral veil is also lovely. It is the first translucent powder I've used and I just love it! It seems to really brighten my complexion, and my makeup lasts all day. My only issue with it is the little pad that comes with it is pretty much useless, and I definitely prefer using the full flawless face brush with it. My face looks so smooth and almost flawless with the combination of these products! I haven't really been wearing the all-over face colour. I've started to put it on the "sun-kissed" spots of my face now that it's summer, and I think it looks nice, and adds a nice shimmer to my cheeks.

I'm not sure why mom was given these samples with the kit, but oh well... not complaining. (She didn't buy from Sephora, by the way!) The deep cleansing foam has a ton of 5-star reviews, which you can read here. Personally, I didn't really find it to be anything special. The reviews make me want to try it out again though, maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention! :P Same goes for the moisturizer; they just didn't beat out the products I'm already using (Cetaphil and tea tree oil). Overall, I'm really happy I was able to try out these products. I think when I run out, I'd definitely like to purchase the primer, the mineral veil and maybe even the concealer!  Because I didn't review the foundations, I decided to give you guys the links, matte and original, to read some from Sephora.com members. I feel like the foundation is the most important part, and so maybe I'll try them out tomorrow evening and edit my post. Hope you enjoyed! - Ash :)
